The red bird nest in Janghang-dong, Ilsan

Parcconido is a bakery cafe located in northern Gyeonggi-do thatresembles a square seen in Europe. Created with basic materials and in simpleshapes, the cafe presents a consistent space in which the space, furniture, andlighting are designed to create an unified atmosphere.

In accordance with the spirit of "sukchulmok" that spaceshould resemble the user, we wanted to capture the environment of our clientwho has lived in Italy for a long time. However, we wanted to give it anidentity as an homage and not a copy, but also we wanted it not to be intuitive.The beginning of this the cafe was the sight of a square where people werehuddled together talking on a sunny day between red brick buildings and stonepillars.

Piled (in many layers) and stuck one by one.

Columns that surge everywhere and rounded walls in the open air wrapthe space. Although the walls and columns have different shapes, they all havea radius of 600mm. The space created through this rule acts as an excellentreference point to complete a sense of unity without it being monotonous. They werebuilt by stacking clay bricks with no holes. The bricks were also cut off bytwo-thirds of the thickness and were coated like skin on an iron frame torelieve the load.

*Furnituremanufactured in perfect circles is appropriately blended into the space invarious forms, such as concrete castings, combination with wood, andoverlapping circular pipes. They also highlight round spaces without standingout themselves.

Travertine limestone, suited for the fountains in squares of Europe,is cut into pieces of 1.5mm*1.5mm and desinged to cover the floor, walls, andceiling of the room. The angles in the indoor space are rolled in round shapesso that the boundary of each side becomes faint and gives an illusion that itexpands. (the round corner also have a radius of 600mm.)The space even makesthe subject stand out with a feeling of weightlessness.

nod in a doze

Red brick, travertine, and wood. the mixture of three materials createa warm-toned space. The visually warm space lowers one's guard and even gives acalm feeling. The symbol of the place depicts a baby bird dozing off in a nest.It was built in the hope that visitors would put down their worries in life andenjoy the relaxed mood. The nest represents the comfortable home provided fromthe birth of new life until independence. This is an analogy that representsthe beginning of the brand with the client challenging for a new business.

Completed in 2022, the cafe is ready to write down its own history inits new home by roasting and baking it's own products. We hope that visitorswill remember the cafe with beautiful and delicious memories.

일산 장항동에자리잡은 적색의 새둥지

파르코니도는 한국 경기북부에 위치한 유럽광장을 모티브로 만들어진 베이커리 카페이다. 기본소재와 단순한 형태로 그려진 이곳은 공간과 가구, 조명들이 하나의 컨셉에 맞게 제작되어 밀도감 있는 공간을 제시한다
공간은 사용자를 닮아야 한다는 “석철목”의 정신에따라 오랜시간 이태리에서 지내온 의뢰인의 환경을 담아보고자 했다. 다만, 카피가 아닌 오마쥬로 정체성은 갖지만 직관적이지 않기를 바랬다. 적벽돌건물과 석재로 지어진 기둥사이로 햇살좋은 날 사람들이 옹기종기 모여 대화를 나누는 광장의 모습이 이곳의 시작이었다.

켜켜이 쌓고 한땀 한땀 붙인다.

야외에서의 여기저기 솟아있는 기둥과 둥글게 올라온 벽들이 공간을 감싸 안는다.  벽과 기둥의 형태는 다르지만 모두 600mm의 반지름이 적용된다. 규칙을 통해 만들어진 공간은 단조롭지않은 통일감을 완성시켜주는데 훌륭한 기준점이 된다. 그것들은 구멍이 없는 점토벽돌들로 쌓아 만들었으며하중의 부담을 덜기 위해 벽돌의 2/3두께를 잘라내어 철제 틀 위로 피부처럼 입히기도 했다.

유럽 광장의 분수대에 쓰일법한 트래버틴 자연석을 1.5mm*1.5mm 로 쪼개어 실내의 바닥과 벽, 천정을 아우르며 시공된다. 각이 진 부위를 둥글게 말아버린실내공간은 각 면의 경계를 모호하게 만들면서 확장되어보이는 착각을 주기도 한다. 공간은 무중력한 이미지로피사체가 돋보이는 기분마저들게 한다.

꾸벅꾸벅 졸다.

적벽돌, 트래버틴, 목재. 세가지 재료가 섞여 이루어진 이곳은 웜톤의 공간을 보여준다. 시각적으로 따스함이 충만해지는 공간은 경계심을 내려놓게하고 평온한 기분마저 들게한다. 이곳의 심볼은 둥지 안에서 졸고있는 아가새의 모습이 그려져있는데 방문이들에게 생활의 근심 내려놓고 여유로운 기분을 누렸으면 하는 바램에서 짓게 되었다. 둥지는 새생명이태어남과 홀로서기까지의 안락한 보금자리임을 이야기한다. 새로운 사업에 도전하는 의뢰인의 모습을 담아 브랜드의 시작됨을 비유하게 되었다.
2022년에 완공된 이곳에선 직접 로스팅과 베이킹을 하며 새 터전에서의 역사를 적어 나아갈 준비가 되었다. 방문이들에게 눈과 입이 즐거운 곳으로 기억에 남길 바라는 마음이다.
